Safety Day 2018 a Big Success!

Our annual Safety Day was a great opportunity for the skydiving community to come together, learn new techniques, and prepare for the busy spring and summer jump season.

On Saturday, March 10, we welcomed dozens of local skydivers for a day of refresher training and jumping. Established by the U.S. Parachute Association in 1997, the 22nd annual nationwide Safety Day event focused on making the sport safer and prepared jumpers for the year ahead. Seasoned skydivers and novice jumpers alike evaluated equipment, brushed up on basic skills, and learned new procedures to keep them safely soaring through the skies.

As well, Cody Marsh made himself available for media interview for the first time since his accident. Marsh injured himself during a high-speed skydiving maneuver in July 2017. Along with Skydive Suffolk's Owner, Mike Manthey, he talked to the media about the importance of safe jumping.

And we also made sure to toss in a little fun with a chili cook-off!
